Located in the tree-lined, vibrant South End neighborhood, The Butcher Shop is Chef Barbara Lynch’s tribute to the old world European boucheries, providing both a full-service artisanal butcher shop as well as a neighborhood wine bar.
Large, etched glass windows overlook Tremont and Waltham streets, allowing guests to watch the activity of the neighborhood and passersby a peek into The Butcher Shop. Situated on “restaurant row” in a classic 1800’s-style rowhouse, the space is charmingly rustic and features exposed brick walls, a black soap stone bar, and reclaimed wood floors. Chalkboard-lined walls announce weekly perfect pairings, classic offerings from the kitchen, and wines-of-the-day.

An 8-foot wide butcher block provides a spot to watch the in-house butcher at work while learning about the perfect cut of meat and how best to prepare it, while during the evening hours, guests’ may gather around the the block to have a glass of wine and a nibble of charcuterie and cheese before dining.
Whether stopping in for a glass of wine, to gather ingredients for dinner, or to linger over a meal, The Butcher Shop invites both neighborhood regulars and first-time visitors to unwind from the pace of the day and enjoy the comfort of warm hospitality.
